Praise Avril Lavigne! Pop Punk High – a musical tribute to pizza, skateboarding, Battle of the Bands, and parents who “just don’t get it” – is getting extended at the PIT Loft.
The show was originally scheduled to wrap up its run on April 28, but due to popular demand, there will be two more performances on May 5 at 8:00 PM and May 26 at 9:00 PM. I can personally attest to the show’s popularity. When I attended the show on April 14, there wasn’t an empty seat in the house.

I was so excited to hear that Pop Punk High would be getting this extension because they deserve it. The cast is all very talented. A few stand-outs are Derek (played by co-writer/composer Ben Lapidus), Tib (Gwynn Ballard), and Derek’s hilariously over-supportive parents (Jacob Grover and Jamie Watson). Having gone to high school through this era, I can attest that the music is on point and reminiscent of Green Day, Simple Plan, and Fall Out Boy. It’s also easy to recommend to younger audiences because it is hilarious, fast-paced, and very affordable with their student pricing.
